CAXTON MAGAZINES:Journalist OPPORTUNITY
An award-winning weekly publication with national circulation, has a vacancy for a multi-skilled and experienced journalist who will be responsible, among others, for:
- Investigating and researching article content for news and/or feature stories;
- Writing quality news and feature articles, adhering to strict deadlines;
- Adhering to the quality, style and content standards of the magazine;
- Liaising with a network of contacts in order to generate timely and target-market-specific articles;
- Taking photographs;
- Producing content for online and other platforms; and
- Attending industry events

Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in journalism/languages or media studies;
- Minimum three years’ experience writing for a mainstream magazine or newspaper;
- Proven investigative skills;
- Knowledge of the agricultural industry;
- Proficient in relevant computer software packages and application
Advantageous
Knowledge of the particular target market of the publication, as well as agriculture in general, will be highly advantageous
Personal Skills/Attributes
This position will suit an experienced journalist who has sound news judgment, as well as excellent time management and multitasking skills. You will have to have your own transport as well as a good quality camera and smart phone.
