Registrar Opportunity

  • The administration of applications, admissions and the registration of students
  • Student advice and support
  • Student assessment administration inclusive of assignment administration, examination administration and invigilator services
  • Graduations and graduation functions
  • Student development inclusive of matters relating to the student representative councils and the support of students with disabilities
  • Student Relationship Management
  • Student Disciplinary matters
  • Committee services
  • Records Management and maintaining the integrity of the academic records of students
  • The rendering, in collaboration with relevant portfolio managers, of decentralized university services to students at regional level with regard to effective academic and technology learning support, facilitation of technology enhanced learning / e-learning, library services, counselling and career development services, and  student admin support services.
  • Policy analysis and interpretation, monitoring legislative and regulatory developments and ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, policies, and regulations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A relevant doctorate
  • At least 10 years relevant senior management experience
  • Proficiency in at least one South African languages
  • Knowledge of relevant statutory policies and regulations
  • Knowledge and competency in student information systems
  • Academic administration tools, systems and processes in a large and complex institution
  • Knowledge of open distance learning and the role of ICT in higher education
  • Lateral thinking and effective problem solving with the ability to consider alternative perspectives and ideas
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Understanding and working with Policies and procedures
