INK DESIGN: Designer – Publications Opportunity
A dynamic publications design studio in the southern suburbs is looking for a talented and experienced publishing designer to join the creative team. The ideal candidate must be able to take a project from creative concept through to print and have a thorough understanding of the production process. Designer must be experienced in publication design and have a good understanding of typography and print. This position is not suitable for a graphic artist but is for a publications designer specialising in page layout. Typesetting is an essential part of the job. Excellent communications and management skills are necessary to liaise directly with clients and manage own projects.
The work is varied and exciting and includes books and covers, a wide variety of corporate reports, magazines, packaging design, posters, banners, brochures, conference and marketing material, corporate branding and digital design for an extensive client base.

Requirements
Must work on Mac in Adobe CS
Minimum two years experience in a creative publishing environment
InDesign typesetting skills
Excellent communication skills
Must be able to think independently and responsibly
Must be a team player and solution driven
Must be capable of working to deadline in a fast-paced pressured industry
Attention to detail essential
Occasional overtime will be required to meet deadline
