KINETIC:Conference and Exhibition Sales Executive Opportunity

We are seeking to recruit an experienced conference and exhibition sales executive for our office in Dean Street, Newlands.
As a sales executive you will be responsible for generating revenue by selling exhibition/sponsorship packages and delegate passes, for our business conferences and exhibitions.
Kinetic Events is an international business-to-business conference and exhibitions company based in Cape Town, South Africa, established as a key strategic information provider to the IT and Telecoms sector. Our mission is to provide senior management executives with knowledge, market intelligence and viable commercial opportunities. We provide our clients with business platforms to build relationships, share ideas and most importantly, to do business.
Key result areas and principle accountabilities
- To identify relevant opportunities and maximise sales for the conference portfolio
- To complete the required level of sales activity in order to meet or exceed targets
- To build relationships with potential sponsors including short and long-term prospects
- To maintain on-going relationships with sponsors including managing the involvement of the sponsors in the build up to, and at, the event
- To ensure that all data entry onto systems and databases is maintained to exacting standards
- To ensure regular and on-going communication with the management
- To work cooperatively with other departments, particularly conference production and logistics staff and marketing team.
Performance measures
- To achieve or exceed agreed sales volume and revenue targets.
- To work to set deadlines for targets and ensure timeliness of securing contracts to meet internal deadlines.
- Carry out all communications in a timely manner in support of the sales process
- Providing detailed feedback to internal stakeholders on a regular basis
- To achieve a high level of customer satisfaction based on feedback through both formal and informal methods
- To develop and maintain relationships with personnel from key organisations
- To uphold identified and agreed standards of contact and data capture
Requirements
- Previous conference and expo sales experience is required
- Telephone sales experience preferable
- Strong B2B sales techniques
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Dedication and perseverance to achieve monthly targets
- Word processing and basic spread sheet fundamentals
- Experience using and working with CRM systems

We are looking for a dynamic, highly presentable person who is forward thinking, motivated and driven to succeed. The ideal candidate must be outgoing and confident, have an excellent telephone manner and have a valid South African work permit.
