Rt7 DIGITAL:Front-End Web Developer Opportunity
Does your work drawer consist of an obscure tech t-shirt, an action figure from the 90s and a web survival kit for when we’re sucked into the matrix? Do you often dream of living in a world where everyone uses coding as the official language? If so, you should probably stop day dreaming and get back to work, but while you’re here we might have a job proposal for you. We’re looking for a professional front end developer who has a knows their way around WordPress design and management, and enjoys dabbling in the odd bit of PHP.
The necessary stuff:
- A strong understanding and working experience with front-end web technologies
- An understanding of PHP5
- Understanding of web-based security implementations
- Experience in WordPress configuration and CMS
- Experience with interfacing with web services and APIs using JSON/XML
- Ability to manage full software development process including requirements, functional spec, development and testing.
The advantageous stuff:
- Successful delivery of backend PHP projects, linking with MySQL databases and front end websites
- Understanding of system architecture, design and good coding practices
- A thorough understanding of secure code, work on e-commerce systems and integrating with payment gateways
- Experience with Magento, 3DCart or Smarty Templates
- Experience with templating languages
- Responsive design
- Exposure to VBA or ASP
- Knowledge of semantic HTML and experience implementing search engine optimisation techniques
- Experience with cross-browser compatibility including Internet Explorer rendering issues and solutions
- Excellent WordPress skills with the ability to extend WordPress
- Good experience with MySQL database design and development
- WordPress plugin development
- Mobile app/FB App development
- Understanding of responsive/mobile design
Your responsibilities will include:
- Client projects/bespoke development using both custom solutions, WordPress and Magento/3DCart
- Working with the SEO team to address site related issues/find ways of innovative ways assisting in automating solutions
- Being responsible for the future upgrade path of our in-house WordPress theme
- Understand and contribute to usability best practice in site navigation/user journeys
- Responsibility for technical maintenance, WordPress upgrades, etc. across our suite of sites and client sites
