TNS:Research Assistant Opportunity

Financial management:
• Able to cost straightforward projects
• Track time and costs accurately
• Review job costs and impact on financial results
Proposal process:
• Assist in preparation of key proposal elements
• Responsible for specific project-related tasks with the guidance of seniors including writing proposals, designing questionnaires/discussion guides, sample design and tab specs
• Conduct desk research on client and job
• Develop familiarity with all aspects of the research design
Project management:
• Participate in project process/scheduling
• Assist with all aspects of the project, including managing and maintaining files
• Manage the project/team administration
• Arrange the printing and distribution of documents
Analysis/reporting:
• Conduct basic analysis and compile presentations using TNS specific software
• Must be comfortable working on qualitative and quantitative projects
• Maintain high quality through thorough checking of all work produced including proposals, questionnaires, discussion guides and presentations
• Produce and check charts, reports and data tables for logic and accuracy
• Create deliverables and recommendations that address client business needs
• Participate in creating analytic plans
Client responsibilities:
• Communication with client with guidance from seniors
• Understand and communicate client needs to internal team
• Complete client requests in a timely manner
Communication:
• Develop presentation skills through internal opportunities
• Proactively seek feedback on written and verbal communication style

TNS is SA’s largest ad hoc marketing research company. We are a full-house research company, undertaking all phases of the research process from designing the study, executing the fieldwork, processing the data to interpreting and presenting the findings to the client.
Requirements
Minimum skills and knowledge:
• Completed tertiary education – B.Com/Business Science Marketing/PGDM/Research Psychology/relevant marketing degree
• Minimum of one to two years’ of work experience in the research industry
• Analytical ability with proven numeracy skills (skills will be tested)
• Computer literacy – proficiency on all MS Office packages
• Business writing skills
• Presentation skills
• Basic commercial skills (cost and time management)
• Strong attention to detail
• Marketing knowledge and a thorough understanding of marketing research principles
