PICK n PAY:Webmaster OPPORTUNITY

The webmaster will spend time managing our web site structure, images, banners, articles, pages and various other aspects within a content managed solution.
He/she will be responsible for maintaining and ensuring that our sites are functioning properly and are available to users.
Primary responsibilities:
- Undertake regular maintenance of the website
- Maintain currency and accuracy of links and content
- Ensure the web servers, hardware and software are operating accurately.
- Generate and revise web pages.
- Examine and analyse site traffic.
- Create and modify appearance and setting of websites.
- Input landpages into CMS.
- Fix links that don’t work and pictures that aren’t appearing properly.
- Keep files small so sites load faster.
- Test different browsers and ensure people with different computers can access a website.
- Suggest and prepare additional features
- Maintain sites accessibility to Search Engines
- Daily website content updates
- A strong understanding of the software development life cycle and software development methodologies (requirements gathering, analysis and design, development tools, version control, testing and QA, and deployment). Utilise scripting languages such as JavaScript.
- Configure web servers
- Serve as the server administrator
- Regulate and manage access rights of different users on website
- Create and modify appearance and setting of site
- Lay out content on web pages.
- Deal with and respond to heavy volumes of email.
- Usability – Test websites to see if there are any parts that are difficult to use.
- Meet with designers to agree on site’s design
- Fix links that don’t work and pictures that aren’t appearing properly
- Test different browsers and ensure people with different computers can access a website.
Requirements
- Essential web development in WordPress, PHP, CSS, and HTML5
- Knowledge of Linux and Apache configuration and maintenance
- Comfort with internet research and search engines
- Website design, build and maintenance experience
- Knowledge of current web security standards and good practice
- Knowledge of graphic media tools
- A good understanding of Search Engine Optimisation
- Knowledge of PhPMyAdmin and MySQL
Advantageous
At least two years experience as a content editor on a CMS platform such as Microsoft SharePoint.
• Intermediate XHTML, CSS and JavaScript skills.
• Photoshop – should be able work within Photoshop, editing image colours and text. There is no requirement for conceptual design experience.
• We recommend having software development experience as this will help fault finding within vast CMS websites.
