ADMINISTRATIVE SECRETARY (Department of English) Opportunity

• Welcoming visitors and directing them appropriately.
• Handling of enquiries.
• Answering of telephone in a professional manner.
• Screening calls for the Head of Department and other members of staff in the Department of English.
• Arranging catering for meetings, events, etc.

Providing and Effective Secretarial Service to the Head of Department

• Take messages for the Head of Department and other senior academic members of staff in the Department of English.
• Managing the diary for the Head of Department.
• Handling of general queries.
• Typing of outgoing correspondence, memorandums, notice to staff and students, confidential documents, statements, reports, minutes of meetings, etc.
• Handling of incoming and outgoing mail.
• Arranging meetings for the Head of Department.


Provide Administrative Support to the Head of Department

• Keeping of records and ensuring they are up to date.
• Keeping of all filing up to date.
• Shredding of confidential documents when required.
• Photocopying of documents and reports.
• Keeping a file of all pending matters that are brought forward and handing it to the Head of Department on a daily basis for his action.

Handling of any Project Requested by Senior Members of the Academic Staff in Consultation with the Head of Department

• Generation of reports.


• National Secretarial Certificate. National Secretarial Diploma will be an added advantage.
• Computer Literacy (Advanced MSWord, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint) MS Outlook, Internet.
• Minimum of three (3) years relevant secretarial and administrative experience
