Job description
Our client, a growing Tour Operator in Cape Town, wishes to employ a German speaking FIT Consultant to join their international and dynamic team. The company specialises in European clients and luxury travel. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who has a passion for working with people and has an interest in the tourism industry. Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing itineraries for individual travelers and small groups
- Operational handling from A to Z of groups and inbound incentives in South and Southern Africa
- Preparing proposals (mainly on PowerPoint)
- Writing travel descriptions in both German and English
- Liaising, coordinating and negotiating with all clients and suppliers
- Reconciliation of projects and assignments
- Handling all invoices and payments
Qualifications and Experience
- Matric and a relevant tertiary degree qualification in Tourism
- Minimum of 1-2 year experience as a Tour Consultant in South Africa
- Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in handling inbound incentive groups and MICE business into South Africa, or ideally into Southern Africa (adv.)
- Minimum of 2-3 years FIT experience which includes preparation of itineraries for individual travelers and small groups
Competencies Required:
- German (mother tongue) and excellent English – both written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of MS Office applications – preferably 3 years PowerPoint experience and additional graphic programs will be a bonus
- Good knowledge of all South African countries
- Knowledge in the field of Groups and Incentives suppliers, at least in South Africa (adv.)
- Ability to thrive under pressure and reach deadlines
- Interest in working in a small owner run business with high standards
- Team player and flexible
- Driver’s license and own transport
