Marketing Intelligence Specialist Opportunity

Our client is one of the leading online travel company’s with offices in Cape Town and London. With their incredible passion for the world of travel, conservation and everything digital they promote safari and wildlife destinations across Africa and Asia. They’re currently looking for a marketing intelligence specialist to join their team.

The ideal candidate will have at least two to five years experience covering marketing analytics, business intelligence and reporting. It is an important role as you be involved in the three departments of marketing, BI and tech. You will set up our web analytics infrastructure, improve our tracking across channels, create reports and deliver actionable insights across various departments according to our business needs.


BA/BS in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics or related field
Minimum two to five years experience in an analyst role covering analytics, BI and DWH management
Excellent knowledge of Google Analytics and AdWords, Webmaster Tools and Google Tag Manager
Basic understanding of SEO principles
Advanced MS Excel skills are expected
Ability to work with both technical and non ­technical business owners to get things done
Strong communication and organisational skills in order to liaise with key suppliers and the marketing and sales teams


Developing, maintaining, updating and automating reports by integrating data from various sources
Establish benchmarks across various websites and metrics to achieve scalable improvements for our website portfolio
Conduct on­ demand analysis centred around Google Analytics, SEO and PPC ­campaign management
Developing business intelligence tools, databases, dashboards, systems and methods
Testing and reporting website performance across our various web properties
Providing practical recommendations to UX and Marketing to improve the performance of our sites
Implementing and modifying tracking pixels to measure site performance and improve marketing tools
Generating, presenting and communicating actionable insights to our marketing team
Provide strategic input for content generation for marketing, especially for social media and blogs
Optimise on and off­site conversions throughout the marketing funnel
Collaborate with technical and non ­technical personnel to answer questions, provide support and training
Setting up and modifying data feeds to run dynamic re-marketing campaigns

Business intelligence experience is a big plus:

Knowledge of SQL: e.g. MySQL or MSSQL or PL/SQL
Ideally experienced with ETL tools: e.g. Kettle or SISS
