Human Resources Representative Intern Opportunity

Participates in, and assists with any other HR/People events and interventions as and when required e.g. induction presentation.
Managing staff entry and exit processes.
Ensures implementation and compliance of Federal Mogul HR policies and procedures as well as South African Labour Legislation requirements.
Maintains a number of databases.
General HR administration and statistics for reporting purposes – EE, BBBEE, EXCO, MERSETA.
Resolves HR queries for staff and follows up.
Ensure that the necessary consultative forums, inclusive of EE Forums, Training and Development Forums, Shop Stewards committee meetings etc are established and effective.

Industrial Relations
Assist and guide line managers in dealing with their people management issues, including maintaining effective discipline, performance management.
Ensure effective dispute resolution mechanisms are in place.
Develop HR practices which reflect IR best practice.
Develop the monthly Shopsteward /management meeting into a successful vehicle for improved communication.

Employment Equity

Assist with the planning, execution and reporting on the Employment Equity plan of the business in line with Company and legal requirements.
Setup of EE screens and reports on VIP.
Assist with the planning, execution and reporting on the Employment Equity plan of the business in line with Company and legal requirements.
Establish EE Forum meetings quarterly and effective running of procedure.
Ensure that Employment Equity reports are submitted by the 15st of October of every year.

Training

Plans, designs and executes the Workplace Skills Implementation plan for the business in line with company, budget and legal requirement.
Participates in Skills and Employment Equity Committee and ensures that all reports in accordance with the Skills Development Act, EE Act and MERSETA requirements are completed and submitted
annually.
Co-ordinates training activities and payments thereof.
Conduct an annual training needs analysis by using questionnaires, performance assessments and surveys in consultation with management and staff to determine training required.
Design and coordinate a staff training program based on organizational and employee needs.
Compile training courses, prepare notes and visual displays from researched information
Conduct training courses, which may involve demonstrating equipment, operating DVD players and cameras and leading group discussions or role play activities.
Outsource training to accredited training providers where necessary and co-ordinates training implementation thereafter.
Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, evaluation involves using such methods as survey, questionnaires, interviews and observation, then using the results to plan future courses or to amend existing ones.
Ensure that all training is recorded on the training attendance record and captured electronically on VIP.
Liaise directly with MERSETA regarding all training and development reports and grants submission dates and new developments.

Recruitment

Maintain applications on the Cornerstone on Demand recruitment system.
Co-ordinate psychometric assessments.
Set up and conduct screening interviews..
Co-ordinate on boarding process
Conduct analyses to determine staffing numbers, skills and needs to meet the organisation’s objectives.
Analyse the skills and qualities required for each particular job and develop job descriptions/specs to be used in future recruitment initiatives.
Liaise with recruitment agencies regarding vacancies.
Advertise staff vacancies, assess applications, interview candidates, give selection tests and Predictive Index assessments, prepare reports and make recommendations to management about staff appointments.
Develop outcomes based interview questionnaires for all vacant positions.
Complete all necessary systems and control documentation relating to employment – HR and IT related policies.
Arrange computer access, security access, and induction process upfront with all parties concerned.
Induct new employee on policies and procedures on first day of employment.

BBBEE

Ensure BBBEE audit files are updated on a monthly basis.
Assist with auditing process.

HR Administration

Compile and submit various monthly human resources reports by the 5th of each month.
Responsible for all HR related administration.
Ensure that all employee records are processed electronically and filed accurately and timely.
Initiate purchase orders and payment requisitions in line with set procedures.
