Job description
Newsclip Media Monitoring seeks to employ a media scanner.
The media scanner is responsible for accurately scanning print articles and writing accurate synopses of a potential commercial value relevant to a specified client.
Must be fluent in both English and Afrikaans.
Must be able to translate from Afrikaans to English.
Working hours:
06.00 – 14.00pm, Monday to Friday
Two Sundays per month

Newsclip is a press clipping company, with nearly three decades of experience in providing clients with up-to-the-minute access to clips obtained in the monitoring process. The company has expanded to include a fully-fledged publishing division that produces Media Update, Publicity Update and Marketing Update. Newsclip was established in 1983 and today monitors over 1,500 print media, over 500 commercially-viable websites and over 300 television and radio stations. In a multi-faceted industry, the challenge has always been to incorporate all the different media sources into a single solution. Newsclip understands that its extensive client base has very different media monitoring requirements, and has therefore developed a range of products and services that meet these individual needs.
Requirements
Relevant tertiary qualification e.g. Media Studies, Journalism and/or Communications
Fluent in Afrikaans and English
Two years working experience
Computer literate
Minimum typing speed of 45wpm
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
Attention to detail
Good time management skills
Good interpersonal skills
