Description

Main purpose:To develop, maintain and ensure the organisations reputation in the public and internal environment through compliance to the organisation’s, Brand and Public Relations (PR) strategy.

Key performance areas:

  • To compile and manage the PR department’s budget in terms of expenses in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • To communicate and liaise with internal departments and business units and external customers regarding all brand relevant matters
  •  To build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders in order to ensure that the Kaya FM brand stays ‘top of mind’ according to brand and PR strategy
  • To develop and implement a PR and communication strategy in accordance with the Kaya FM Brand strategy
  • To source and select brand relevant media platforms and partnerships to promote the Kaya FM brand in accordance to the company strategy      
  • To draft media platform specific communication to communicate brand messages
  • To source and select appropriate brand ambassadors to promote the Kaya FM brand in accordance to relevant media platforms
  • To source and select opportunities for partnership to promote the brand.
  • To identify social responsibility opportunities in accordance with Brand
  • To develop, implement and maintain a crisis communication strategy
  • To successfully complete all allocated and agreed development activities
  • To mentor, coach and train an allocated subordinate in the Public Relations and communications environment

Requirements

  • Grade 12
  • Relevant tertiary qualification (PR, communications, corporate communication) degree/diploma
  • Media relations (one to three years’ experience)
  • Supervisory experience  (one to three years’ experience)
  • Event management (one to three years’ experience)

Skills and Knowledge:

  • MS Office (intermediate)
  • Negotiation and facilitation skills
  • Presentation skills
  • Project management and financial management skills
  • Knowledge to established network of contacts (people with influence)
  • Entertainment industry knowledge
