Aquarius Recruitment and Search was established in 1997 with a view to offering specialist recruitment services to the financial services industry in South Africa. To this endeavour, we now have a successful track record of 21 years — finding and placing specialist skilled people in asset management, investment banking and actuarial-life assurance companies.

We are currently looking for a Recruitment Consultant to join our team, this will involve working with two other recruiters who have a combined 20+ years of extensive recruitment industry experience. In today’s world of recruitment, specialization is key as well as working alongside industry experts. We would offer a fantastic nurturing and supportive working environment which often manifests in passive billing derived from joint and split placements. 

This job involves:

  • Sourcing high caliber candidates through various available mediums – Interfacing with HR and line managers in the financial services industry
  • Procurement of high quality Job Specs
  • Researching the job profile to understand what you are looking for
  • Referral of suitable candidates to our clients according to their job specification
  • Conducting in-house database searches for appropriate candidates
  • Conducting external research via Internet, Social Media and company websites
  • Cold-calling target companies to extract data about potential candidates
  • Head-hunting targeted individuals to assess their worthiness for the job spec
  • Interviewing candidates to assess their suitability for a specific role
  • Quality control of CVs before they are sent to our client companies
  • Negotiation of terms and conditions and remuneration packages
  • Coordinating interviews with candidates and clients

Requirements

Competencies:

  • Experience gained as a Recruitment Consultant within a recruitment agency is preferable
  • Able to demonstrate successful recruitment track record
  • Excellent communication skills — written and verbal English
  • Excellent attention to detail when scrutinising documents
  • Good negotiation skills

Advantageous:

  • Knowledge and understanding of the financial services industry

  • A people’s person
  • A self-starter, self-motivated and tenacious
  • Dynamic and self-confident — comfortable speaking to people of all levels
  • Driven to succeed in achieving targets
  • Ability to communicate at all levels
