Job description

Can you write short punchy, error-free copy for a variety of brands, sectors and target markets? We look forward to receiving applications from super-talented wordsmiths to join our creative agency.

Working within the content team, you will be responsible for taking a client’s brief and generating original copy that grabs the attention of the target audience. You must be a strategic thinker who can brainstorm ideas, develop concepts, and produce thoughtful messaging and solutions across a variety of industries.

Requirements

• Four+ years of proven experience, preferably in digital marketing.
• A versatile writer with exceptional writing skills in English. A strong grasp of other Southern African languages is a huge advantage.
• Strong understanding of online technologies and how copy needs to be crafted and shaped to come to life across them: Website, Social Media, Content Marketing, Paid Media, Mobile critical.
• Must be able to think strategically when shaping copy –  and be able to think quickly and write fresh smart copy that will help to solve brand and business problems.
• Strong research skills and the ability to use research to inform concept formulation.
• Ability to interrogate and sense-check concepts and strategic communications.
• Acute proofreading and copy-editing skills applied to own work.
• Should be able to work collaboratively with the creative direction, visual, design and media teams to create coherent content that ticks all the brand boxes 
• Highly reliable, organised, efficient, great at multi-tasking.
• A stickler for deadlines and punctuality.
• An advocate for teamwork but is also able to work and think independently.
• Inventive – able to think out of the box and come up with original ideas.
• A keen interest in and awareness of emerging trends in technology, and advertising.
