VIV GORDON PLACEMENT:Brand Manager Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a mid-weight brand manager to work within the marketing department of a funky brand in its Cape Town head office. The main purpose of the job is to build the brand through integrated marketing communications that drives sales and enhances customer experience. The role sees you reporting to the marketing executive.

Your role as brand manager will be to undertake the following:

  • Execute the annual marketing strategy in order to meet the business’ objectives
  • Manage and drive the annual promotional calendar and meet the sales objectives
  • Manage the alignment of all marketing elements including above the line, below the line and online platforms
  • Manage and accurately work within the marketing budgets
  • Manage the marketing team and ensure consistent delivery of tasks
  • Build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintain brand integrity and ensure the impact of all branding decisions are evaluated against the brand strategy
  • Continuously monitor marketing trends and make recommendations so as to keep the brand relevant
  • Conduct specific consumer research surveys in order to align marketing communications to consumer needs

Qualifications and experience

  • The successful candidate must have the following essential qualifications and experience:
  • Marketing Degree or Diploma
  • Five years’ experience within the retail industry
  • Four years’ experience managing people
  • Some ad agency experience would be nice
