COMEDY CENTRAL:Marketing and Brand Coordinator Opportunity

Job description

Comedy Central, a division of Viacom International Media Networks, is seeking an enthusiastic marketing/brand coordinator to join their Africa division.

The role will involve the coordination, development and execution of all media and promotions with external agencies and vendors, as well as internal creative teams including talent, clients and stakeholders.

Requirements:

Qualification: Bachelors degree with a postgraduate preferred.
Language: Excellent written and verbal command of English.
Digital Media: It’s important that the candidate has an understanding of social media trends and that he/she is constantly updated on digital media.
Other: The candidate must be passionate about the Comedy Central brand, must be proactive, show innovation and think outside the box.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the development and execution of all media and promotions with external agencies/vendors, as well as internal creative teams including talent, clients and stakeholders
  • Compile assets and specs from internal and external stakeholders to ensure all assets are delivered correctly and on time. (Digital, cross-channel/affiliate (TV), radio, print, outdoor, experiential, etc.)
  • Create and maintain asset requests, elements/deliverables charts, timelines, weekly status reports, production files, flowcharts, etc.
  • Translate project/campaign objectives and strategy into communication documents, and distribute them to key stakeholders (requests for proposals, marketing briefs, campaign recap decks, etc.)
  • Contribute to the execution of on-the-ground promotions (festivals, conventions, stand-up events, third-party partnerships, experiential marketing, etc.)
  • Set up new vendors, create purchase orders, approve invoices, and track media and production costs in campaign budget logs
  • Write award submissions and gather necessary assets
  • Take notes at meetings and send out minutes
  • Track and gather results and metrics upon campaign completion to help determine return on investment
  • Monitor the TV landscape for current trends and competitive insight
  • Assist in the development of presentations
  • Coordinate special projects assigned but not limited to; competitive analysis, guerilla marketing and internal process improvements
  • Manage meeting scheduling and internal and external status reports
  • Contact person for group marketing meetings including; distribution of materials, coordination with technical team and ensuring productive audio and video conferences

 

Requirements

The candidate must be a strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, able to establish good relationships with internal and external contacts of all professional levels.
The candidate must also have strong presentation skills and be able to captivate an audience.

Personal Skills/Attributes

Must be passionate about all things comedy including but not limited to stand-up, sitcoms and sketch.
