The Publishing Partnership, one of South Africa’s leading content agencies, is looking for an experienced editor for one our leading bi-monthly titles. This is a challenging position for a highly organised and motivated individual.
Key responsibilities
- Compiling editorial book-lists that fulfill client briefs, in line with campaign calendars
- Conceptualising, commissioning and editing features to the highest standards
- Ensuring error-free pages are sent to client for approval
- Adhering to strict deadlines
- Maintaining excellent relationships with clients and freelance contributors
- Managing staff and mentoring junior editorial staff
- Adhering to editorial budgets.
Requirements
- A tertiary degree in English, media or journalism
- At least six years working in a publishing environment
- (preferably with experience in both print and digital content)
- Proven editorial skills with excellent writing and editing ability
- Editorial flair and a good eye for a story
- Ability to draw up production schedules and adhere to strict timelines
- Knowledge of best practice and implementation of content across web, social and mobile platforms
- Flexibility, the ability to work calmly and accurately under pressure, a strong sense of responsibility and initiative .
