Job Description:
Truworths, one of South Africa’s leading fashion retailers, is offering an exciting opportunity for graduates seeking workplace experience. This internship is available within the Truworths Africa Design Division for graduates with a National Diploma NQF6 in Clothing & Textile Technology.
In this role, you will receive training and work closely with Patternmakers, the Sample Room, Garment Technologists, Designers, Merchandisers, Production Planners, as well as Fabric and Trims Buyers. This opportunity is based at our Head Office in Cape Town.
Key Responsibilities:
- Learn in the exciting environment of Merchandisers, Production Planners, and Fabric & Trims Buyers
- Gain experience in Pattern Making
- Understand the complexity of garment construction
- Make both manual and digital patterns
- Learn the importance of building strong relationships with Sample Machinists, Garment Technologists, Buyers, and Designers to achieve desired outcomes
- Work closely with expert trainers and industry leaders
- Perform administrative duties
Qualifications and Experience:
- A passion for the world of fashion and manufacturing processes
- Final-year student or recent graduate in National Diploma in Clothing & Textile Technology
