Applications Open for Artisan Fitter Position at Eskom’s Duvha Power Station

Eskom is calling on qualified candidates to apply for an exciting Artisan Fitter position at the Ash Plant within the Maintenance Department at Duvha Power Station in Mpumalanga. This opportunity is open to both internal and external applicants who meet the required qualifications and skills.

A Key Role in Mechanical Maintenance

The primary responsibility of the Artisan Fitter will be to maintain and repair mechanical equipment critical to the operation of the Ash Plant. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring plant reliability, safety, and operational efficiency.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Qualifications: Grade 12 and a recognised Trade Test.
  • Experience: Practical computer training is required.
  • Professional Registration: Not applicable for this role.

Eskom is seeking candidates who demonstrate a combination of technical ability, teamwork, and leadership qualities. Key competencies include:

  • Behavioral Traits: Integrity, honesty, trustworthiness, and professionalism.
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to work effectively as part of a team, motivate others, coach and mentor colleagues, and contribute to team development.
  • Knowledge: Basic knowledge of Plant Safety Regulations, with a strong emphasis on safety procedures specific to low-voltage (LV) operations.
  • Technical Skills: Computer literacy, strong supervisory abilities, and excellent communication skills.
  • Additional Requirements: A valid driver’s license is essential.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Conducting preventative and corrective maintenance activities in compliance with plant safety regulations and preventative maintenance plans.
  • Participating in departmental meetings and contributing to maintenance planning.
  • Attending to equipment care to ensure operational readiness and adhering to personal safety protocols.
