Job Description
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is looking for Casual Merchandisers to join their Mall of Africa store in Midrand, Gauteng. This part-time opportunity is ideal for individuals looking to gain valuable experience in retail. As a merchandiser, you will be responsible for maintaining merchandising standards, restocking shelves, and ensuring customers receive outstanding service.
Your core responsibilities will include:
- Restocking merchandise and ensuring shelves are always full
- Removing expired or damaged products and rotating stock using the FIFO method
- Maintaining neat, well-labelled, and correctly priced displays
- Assisting in stocktaking, unpacking deliveries, and general store housekeeping
- Supporting merchandising displays and planogram compliance
- Offering friendly and helpful customer service
- Ensuring out-of-stock queries are followed up and resolved
- Adhering to all Dis-Chem policies, health and safety regulations, and standard operating procedures
Requirements
Essential:
- Grade 12 / Matric certificate
- Up to 6 months’ retail experience
- Basic computer literacy (MS Office)
- Willing and able to work flexible retail hours
- Physically fit and capable of lifting/moving stock
- South African citizenship
- Clear credit and criminal records
Advantageous:
- At least 1 year of retail experience
- Knowledge of merchandising standards and the FMCG sector
- Ability to interpret ZMORE reports for stock management
- Bilingual communication skills
