Dis-Chem Pharmacies has opened applications for the position of Receiving Clerk at their Brackenfell Corner store in Cape Town, Western Cape. This is a permanent, entry-level role within the LL Division, ideal for candidates eager to begin or grow a career in retail operations. Applications close on 17 July 2025.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for the accurate and efficient receiving, verification, and handling of stock at store level. This position plays a critical role in ensuring inventory accuracy, smooth supply flow, and compliance with Dis-Chem’s policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately scan and capture received goods in line with standard operating procedures
• Verify delivery invoices, check for damaged or unordered items, and complete credit notes
• Ensure the quantities and conditions of received stock match invoice details
• Process warehouse claims and returns as required
• Ensure same-day receipting of deliveries and timely stock placement
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized receiving area and storeroom
• Assist with high-risk stock management and control

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric
• Computer literacy
• Solid numerical ability
• Physically able to lift boxes up to 20kg
• Willingness to work retail hours

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in receiving, retail, or FMCG environments
• Familiarity with stock rotation systems
• Bilingual communication skills

Key Competencies

• Strong communication and administrative skills
• Ability to interact with suppliers, store reps, and internal teams
• Attention to detail and good time management
• Knowledge of receiving procedures and inventory control

Special Conditions

Candidates must:

• Be a South African citizen
• Have reliable transport or live near the Brackenfell Corner store
• Be physically fit to lift heavy items
• Have clear criminal and credit records
• Be available for shifts during retail operating hours
