What You’ll Be Doing

As a Trainee Accountant, your responsibilities will focus on both technical audit execution and interpersonal collaboration:

• Participating in audit engagements under International Standards of Auditing (ISA)
• Executing assigned tasks efficiently while supporting your team
• Communicating progress with senior team members
• Preparing schedules, interpreting financial statements, and drafting reports
• Selecting appropriate accounting frameworks and applying them to non-routine transactions
• Developing productive relationships with clients and internal departments
• Maintaining professional conduct in accordance with ethical guidelines
• Continuing your own education and career development throughout your training contract

This opportunity is designed to provide practical experience that supports the theoretical knowledge gained in BCom Accounting and SAICA/ACCA studies.

Who Should Apply?

Nexia SAB&T is looking for candidates who meet the following educational and professional criteria:

SAICA Pathway:

• Grade 12 (essential)
• BCom Accounting degree (completed)
• CTA Level 2/PGDA (preferred)
• No prior work experience required

ACCA Pathway:

• Grade 12
• BCom Accounting degree with a 65% average
• Completed Foundations modules (preferred)
• Currently busy with Professional modules (P1–P7)
