What is the YES Programme?
The Youth Employment Service (YES) is a government-backed initiative designed to give unemployed youth the chance to gain work experience and improve their employability. Who Should Apply?
You could qualify for this opportunity if you meet the following criteria:
- Aged between 18 and 28 years
- Grade 10 minimum, with Matric preferred
- Unemployed and not studying full-time during the employment year (April 2023 – March 2024)
- Have not previously participated in any YES programme
- Have not worked continuously for a single employer for more than 12 months
- Willing and able to commit to a fixed-term 12-month contract
- Able to cover your own transport and accommodation, if needed
- Preference will be given to applicants from designated groups in line with the Employment Equity Act
