What Will You Do as a Sales Assistant?
Your role will be key in driving sales and maintaining high store standards. Responsibilities include:
- Using customer selling techniques to exceed customer expectations and drive sales
- Ensuring strict adherence to stock loss controls and store policies
- Meeting personal and team sales targets consistently
- Identifying opportunities to increase turnover and maximise sales
- Maintaining excellent visual merchandising and housekeeping standards
- Processing all transactions accurately, including cash, cards, vouchers, and loyalty cards
- Building strong, professional relationships with customers through friendly, helpful assistance
- Handling customer queries and complaints efficiently and escalating when necessary
- Reporting positive customer feedback and areas for improvement to management
What We’re Looking For
Essential Requirements:
- Matric certificate or equivalent
- Up to 6 months of retail experience
- Honest and trustworthy, especially in handling cash and payments
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally
- Willingness to work retail hours and be flexible as needed
- South African citizenship
Advantageous:
- At least 1 year of retail experience
- Computer proficiency, particularly Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of current clothing trends or outdoor lifestyle brands
