Young Professional-in-Training Programme at Transnet Freight Rail Kilner Park

Transnet Freight Rail (TFR) is inviting unemployed South African graduates to apply for its two-year Young Professional-in-Training graduate development programme. This initiative provides structured mentorship and on-the-job training to help graduates gain practical experience and enhance employability in various functional areas.

Programme Overview
The programme lasts 24 months, with progress assessments every six months to ensure both the candidate and TFR meet their objectives. Candidates gain institutional knowledge, practical exposure, and guidance from experienced mentors across TFR departments and depots.

Eligibility and Qualifications
Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • South African citizen, aged 18–35
  • Graduate from a Department of Higher Education & Training accredited institution (University, University of Technology, or TVET College)
  • National Diploma, Bachelors’ degree, or BTech with minimum NQF Level 6
  • Fields of study include:
    • Communication/Public Relations (B Degree/National Diploma)
    • Graphic Design (B Degree/National Diploma)
  • No prior work experience in the field of study
