Clicks Group is seeking motivated individuals for the position of Shop Assistant / Cashier at its Sterkspruit and surrounding area stores. This permanent role is ideal for candidates interested in retail, FMCG, and customer service, and aims to deliver efficient service while creating a positive shopping experience for customers.

Role Overview
The Shop Assistant / Cashier will manage point-of-sale operations, handle merchandise, and ensure accurate transactions. The role requires promoting Clicks’ products and clubcard program, maintaining store standards, and delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute all operational activities at the point of sale efficiently and accurately.
• Scan merchandise, collect payments, and handle cash safely.
• Promote the Clicks clubcard and enroll new members to meet participation targets.
• Inform customers about ongoing promotions to increase sales and enhance the shopping experience.
• Maintain visual merchandising and store housekeeping standards.
• Stay updated on product ranges, promotions, and store events to provide accurate customer information.
• Act as a brand ambassador by providing professional, friendly, and helpful service.

Skills and Competencies

• Basic mathematics and numeracy skills.
• Retail or FMCG experience, including merchandising and promotions knowledge.
• Customer service excellence with strong orientation towards client satisfaction.
• Planning, organizing, and problem-solving abilities.
• Good communication and computer literacy skills.
• Competencies include following procedures, meeting customer expectations, and working well in a team.

Qualifications and Experience

• Essential: Grade 12
• Desirable: Mathematics and English at 50% or higher at Grade 12 level
• Experience in a customer-facing retail or FMCG environment is advantageous
