Internship Overview
The Lesaka Technologies Sales Internship is a 12-month paid programme based in Mthatha, designed to provide hands-on sales experience in a high-growth fintech environment. This is a field-based internship, offering practical exposure to real clients, territory management, and commercial operations. The programme is ideal for ambitious, target-driven individuals who are eager to gain real-world sales experience, build professional skills, and develop a strong foundation for a long-term career in sales.

Key Responsibilities
Interns will gain direct experience in sales activities, including:

  • Supporting Account Sales Executives in driving new business growth
  • Engaging directly with merchants and business owners to promote prepaid and digital payment solutions
  • Assisting with onboarding new clients and strengthening client retention
  • Conducting field visits within allocated territories
  • Managing targets, pipelines, and sales performance metrics
  • Participating in structured sales training and development sessions
  • Learning how to handle objections, negotiate, and close deals effectively

Minimum Requirements
Candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • South African citizen aged between 18 and 29
  • Currently unemployed
  • Matric (Grade 12) certificate required; Diploma or Degree in Sales, Business Management, BCom, or related field advantageous
  • Energetic, confident, and self-driven individuals
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Willingness to travel; a valid driver’s license and own vehicle is an advantage
