Key Responsibilities
The Shelfpacker role involves a variety of operational and customer-facing duties, including:
- Ensuring compliance with general merchandise standards and company regulations
- Maintaining hygiene, housekeeping, and safe working conditions in both the sales floor and back-up areas
- Adhering to security procedures and monitoring merchandise standards
- Conducting quality checks and rotating stock, removing damaged or expired items
- Preventing wastage, shrinkage, and product damage
- Verifying correct pricing and labeling of merchandise
- Approaching and assisting customers courteously, providing information and support as needed
- Performing routine tasks to consistently high standards and demonstrating a sense of urgency in completing tasks
Requirements and Qualifications
Candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Grade 12 (Matric) certificate
- 2–3 years of retail experience is an added advantage
- Strong English communication skills
- Ability to pass competency assessments and interviews
- Flexibility to work shifts and be transferred between stores if needed
- Authorization for a full credit and criminal check
- Valid South African ID
- Reside close to Somerset Mall
