Temp Bartender Opportunity – MORE Collection Skukuza
MORE Collection at Lion Sands in Skukuza, Mpumalanga, is seeking a Temp Bartender for a 6-month fixed-term contract. This role is ideal for hospitality professionals with a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences in a luxury environment.
As a Temp Bartender, you will support the beverage department’s service, sales, and operational goals while promoting the MORE brand values. You will play a vital role in ensuring guests enjoy an exceptional service experience, beverages are prepared and served to the highest standards, and operations run efficiently.
Purpose of the Role
The Temp Bartender ensures consistent service while meeting the beverage department’s procedures, sales targets, and profit goals. The role requires attention to detail, adherence to liquor regulations, and collaboration with the kitchen and service teams to deliver seamless guest experiences.
Key Focus Areas
Guest Service and Beverage Preparation
- Deliver consistent service according to luxury service standards
- Be fully prepared for each guest service, including mis-en-place
- Confidently describe menu items and recommend wine pairings
- Stay informed about menu changes and guest dietary requirements
- Upsell and recommend beverages to enhance guest satisfaction
- Perform beverage preparation and service, including presentation and sales
Operational Support
- Follow stock control procedures and account for all beverages consumed
- Attend daily service meetings to support communication between the kitchen and service teams
- Assist with minibar duties, kids’ entertainment, and luggage handling when required
- Maintain hygiene standards and ensure the work area is clean and organized
Qualifications and Skills
Candidates should have:
- Knowledge of luxury F&B customer service standards
- Expertise in wine, cocktails, and other beverages
- Understanding of food, cooking methods, and menu items
- Experience with stock rotation and inventory control
- Knowledge of hygiene standards and cleaning procedures
- Ability to operate relevant equipment and appliances
- Familiarity with MORE properties and offered activities
- Excellent attention to detail and hygiene principles
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Positive team attitude with emotional control and professionalism
- Time management, self-discipline, and the ability to work under pressure
