Permanent Part-Timer Opportunity at adidas New Market

adidas is seeking a Permanent Part-Timer for its New Market store in Johannesburg. This role supports day-to-day store operations while delivering excellent customer service. The position offers an opportunity to gain retail experience, learn about merchandising, and develop skills in a fast-paced fashion retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide the highest level of adidas service to each customer.
• Complete regular sales transactions including cash, credit, and check payments.
• Assist with product ticketing and check paperwork against items received.
• Support product flow from stockroom to sales floor as required.
• Help develop and maintain merchandising displays following store management guidance.
• Learn and utilize the point-of-sale system accurately and maintain procedural integrity.
• Use selling techniques such as add-on sales and technical product explanations to increase sales and meet store targets.
• Greet customers and assist them in finding the right products; serve as a front-door greeter during busy periods.
• Maintain general housekeeping standards, including store cleaning.
• Ensure company assets are safeguarded and follow loss prevention procedures.
• Participate in in-store and digital training programs to build product knowledge and retail best practices.
• Familiarize yourself with Power BI tools to understand store performance, best sellers, and low-performing products.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Passion for retail and delivering excellent customer service.
• Ability to use initiative and work independently.
• Clear and positive communication skills.
• Flexibility to work weekdays, evenings, and weekends.
• Previous fashion retail experience is advantageous but not required.
• Adaptability to handle multiple tasks and changing circumstances.
• Enthusiasm and confidence in styling customers and providing fashion advice.

Education and Experience

• Matric certificate required.
• 0–1 year of retail experience preferred.
