A Temporary Packer position is available at VKB Milling in Frankfort, Free State. This is a 6 month fixed term contract within the VKB Group’s agri processing division. The role is based at the Frankfort Wheat Mill and focuses on packaging, handling, and preparing milled products for distribution. It is an entry level opportunity designed for individuals who want to gain experience in a fast paced food production and distribution environment.

Job Purpose And Role Overview

The main purpose of this role is to support milling operations by ensuring products are correctly packed, stored, and handled according to company standards. You will work in a production environment where accuracy, speed, and hygiene are essential. The role involves manual labour, stock handling, and maintaining cleanliness in the workplace. You will also ensure that packaged products meet strict quality and safety requirements before distribution. This position plays a key role in keeping the supply chain efficient and reliable.

Key Responsibilities

This role focuses on packaging, stock handling, and maintaining production standards.

Core responsibilities include:

• Packing and bagging milled products according to specifications
• Ensuring correct packaging materials are used at all times
• Preventing mixing of different milled products
• Stacking products onto pallets for storage and transport
• Loading and offloading stock as required
• Maintaining cleanliness in the work area
• Following all standard operating procedures
• Assisting with stock control and monitoring inventory
• Supporting general production and warehouse duties
• Complying with health and safety regulations
• Working night shifts and extended hours when required

Production And Quality Control Duties
