Job Overview and Responsibilities
• Restock merchandise to maintain full and accurate shelf availability
• Ensure stock is stored correctly when received or moved from storeroom
• Apply FIFO principles to maintain product freshness and rotation
• Maintain full product ranges on shelves at all times
• Monitor stock levels and report low or out of stock items
• Identify and report expired, damaged or incorrect stock
• Assist with cycle counts and stocktake processes
• Maintain neat and organised storeroom and shelf displays
• Ensure correct pricing, labels and barcodes on all items
• Support merchandising according to store layout and planograms
• Assist with loading and offloading stock deliveries when required
• Maintain clean and presentable shelves and displays at all times
• Handle customer queries and assist with product information
• Follow up on stock availability requests from customers
• Assist in training of new or existing staff when required
• Follow all health, safety and operational procedures
• Report suspicious behaviour, losses or irregularities to management
Requirements and Skills
• Grade 12 / Matric qualification
• 0 to 6 months retail experience required
• Up to 1 year retail experience is advantageous
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good customer service and communication skills
• Ability to follow instructions and store procedures
• Strong organisational skills and ability to maintain order
• Basic understanding of merchandising and stock control
• Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment
• Trustworthy, honest and reliable work ethic
• Strong time management and self discipline
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Basic English communication skills, written and verbal
• Willingness to learn product knowledge and retail systems
• Ability to work under pressure and meet daily operational targets
• Physical ability to handle stock, lift boxes and work on your feet
This role is based in a busy pharmacy frontshop where accuracy and speed are important. You will spend most of your time on the shop floor ensuring shelves are fully stocked and properly maintained.
