Job Description
Truworths is seeking a Menswear In-House Fit Model to support its Quality Assurance and design teams at Head Office in Cape Town. This role focuses on attending structured fitting sessions where sample menswear garments are tested before production. The fit model provides a real body reference for designers and technicians to evaluate fit, comfort, and garment balance. This is a technical development role, not a fashion or runway modelling position. The outcome of this work directly influences final garment quality and sizing accuracy.
This is a temporary contract position based on strict measurement requirements. You must be available for scheduled fittings during working hours and work within a structured design environment. The role is repetitive but essential for product consistency. Every fitting contributes to improving menswear design standards before garments reach stores.
Key Responsibilities
• Attend scheduled menswear fitting sessions at Head Office
• Model sample garments during fit evaluations
• Work directly with Quality Assurance and design teams
• Provide clear feedback on fit, comfort, and garment movement
• Highlight issues related to sizing, construction, or fabric performance
• Maintain punctual attendance for all scheduled sessions
• Support multiple menswear product development cycles
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must meet strict body measurement requirements. Applications that do not match these measurements will not be considered.
Required measurements:
• Height: 178 cm
• Full chest: 103 cm
• Full natural waist (narrowest point): 87 cm
• Full seat or lower hip (widest point): 103 cm
No formal qualification or previous modelling experience is required. Selection is based entirely on body measurements and suitability for garment fitting.
Competencies
• Well groomed appearance suitable for professional fitting environments
• Strong communication skills when providing garment feedback
• Confidence to express opinions on fit and comfort clearly
• Ability to follow instructions during structured fitting sessions
• Strong punctuality and reliability for scheduled appointments
• Ability to work in a fast-paced product development environment
• Basic computer literacy is an advantage
• Strong teamwork with design and QA departments
Working Environment and Expectations
This role is based at Truworths Head Office in Cape Town. You will work in fitting rooms and design spaces alongside technical teams. Sessions are scheduled according to product development timelines, so availability during working hours is essential. You may be required to stand or move while garments are evaluated for fit and performance. The environment is structured, professional, and focused on precision.
Why This Role Matters
Fit models play an important role in improving garment accuracy before production. Your measurements help designers test how clothing fits on a real body. This reduces sizing issues and improves customer satisfaction in stores. Your feedback directly supports better design decisions, improved comfort, and consistent sizing across menswear ranges.
Application Process
Applicants must ensure all measurements are accurate before applying. Only candidates who meet the exact specifications will be considered. Shortlisted candidates may be invited for fitting assessments. If you do not receive feedback after the selection process, consider your application unsuccessful.
