Job Overview
The Sage X3 Consultant supports end to end implementation and maintenance of Sage X3 systems for clients. You will configure the application based on business requirements, assist with system upgrades, and support data migration processes. The role includes working closely with clients to understand their business processes and translating them into system solutions. You will also provide training, troubleshoot technical issues, and support reporting and reconciliation activities. This position requires strong analytical ability, technical knowledge of ERP systems, and structured project delivery skills.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist with Sage X3 implementation projects from start to finish
• Configure Sage X3 systems according to client requirements
• Install systems on servers and workstations
• Analyse client business processes and map system solutions
• Support system upgrades and version installations
• Gather and document business blueprints for implementation planning
• Execute project tasks according to defined project plans
• Communicate with clients during implementation and support phases
• Recommend business process improvements
• Perform data migration using batches, SQL and data distribution tools
• Conduct reconciliations including bank, inventory and control accounts
• Support system testing, troubleshooting and error resolution
• Prepare user guides, support manuals and training materials
• Conduct end user training sessions and knowledge transfer
• Plan and schedule training activities for client teams
• Support reporting setup and development of reports
• Assist with SQL installation, configuration and maintenance
• Monitor system performance and resolve technical issues
Requirements And Skills
• Degree or diploma in Financial Accounting or Financial Information Systems or related field
• Sage X3 certification or equivalent ERP certification
• Experience in ERP implementation or system consulting
• Strong understanding of financial and business processes
• Knowledge of SQL installation and database management
• Ability to perform reconciliations and data analysis
• Strong communication and client engagement skills
• Ability to write documentation and training materials
• Problem solving and troubleshooting ability
• Valid driver’s licence and own transport
• Clear credit and criminal record
• South African citizenship, residency or valid work permit
