Job Overview
The IT Intern will support the Information Technology department by assisting with daily IT operations, end-user support and system administration tasks. Throughout the programme, interns will receive hands-on exposure to cloud infrastructure, network administration, cybersecurity compliance, Service Desk operations and Identity and Access Management (IAM). You will also contribute to small operational projects while building technical knowledge under the guidance of experienced IT leaders. This internship is particularly suitable for candidates who require Work Integrated Learning (WIL) to complete their qualification.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide support for daily IT operations and technical support requests
• Assist with Service Desk operations and end-user support
• Help troubleshoot hardware, software and system issues
• Support cloud infrastructure and systems administration activities
• Assist with Identity and Access Management (IAM) tasks
• Contribute to cybersecurity compliance activities
• Maintain accurate IT documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Assist with system updates and infrastructure maintenance
• Support IT asset audits and inventory management
• Participate in automation scripting and small operational projects
• Work closely with experienced systems engineers and IT leaders
• Develop technical and professional workplace skills throughout the internship
Requirements and Skills
• Currently studying towards a Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field
• Basic understanding of networking fundamentals, operating systems, hardware components and cybersecurity principles
• Familiarity with Windows 10 and Windows 11 troubleshooting
• Exposure to macOS or Linux will be advantageous
• Basic understanding of computer hardware and peripherals
• Knowledge of local networking concepts, including TCP/IP, Wi-Fi and DNS
• Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications, including Teams, Outlook, Word and Excel
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Self-motivated with a willingness to learn new technologies
• Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures
• Adaptable and eager to accept constructive feedback
• Preference will be given to candidates who require Work Integrated Learning (WIL)
