MA Automotive Tool & Die (Pty) Ltd is recruiting a Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) Intern for its Head Office in Rosslyn, Pretoria. This 12-month fixed-term internship offers an excellent opportunity for recent Safety Management graduates to gain valuable practical experience within South Africa’s automotive manufacturing industry. The successful candidate will work in a dynamic production environment that manufactures steel and aluminium stampings and assemblies for leading automotive original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). Job Overview

The SHE Intern will support the Safety, Health and Environment team with daily health and safety activities while gaining practical workplace experience in a manufacturing environment. The role provides exposure to safety management systems, compliance processes and workplace risk management within the automotive industry. Successful candidates will develop valuable technical and professional skills while working alongside experienced SHE professionals. This internship is designed to build a strong foundation for a long-term career in occupational health and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the implementation of workplace health and safety procedures.
• Assist with maintaining SHE documentation and records.
• Participate in health and safety inspections and audits.
• Support compliance with company safety policies and legal requirements.
• Assist with identifying workplace hazards and reporting safety concerns.
• Participate in safety awareness and training initiatives.
• Help maintain accurate safety reports and administrative records.
• Support continuous improvement of SHE processes.
• Work closely with the SHE team on daily operational activities.
• Promote a safe and healthy working environment.
• Maintain professional standards while performing assigned duties.

Requirements and Skills

• Completed NQF Level 7 Advanced Diploma in Safety Management or Degree in Safety Management.
• Strong people management and interpersonal skills.
• Highly motivated and self-driven.
• Good computer literacy, including Microsoft Office.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong organisational and administrative abilities.
• Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
