About the Role

As a Store Driver, you will be responsible for delivering products safely and efficiently to customers while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and customer service. You will ensure deliveries are completed accurately and on time, follow company vehicle policies and assist with dispatch operations when required. This position also requires careful handling of stock, accurate documentation and compliance with road safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver products to customers safely, professionally and on time.
• Learn and assist with various dispatch and delivery functions.
• Ensure the correct products are delivered to the correct customers.
• Prioritise fridge-line deliveries using cooler boxes and cold packs.
• Plan the shortest and most efficient delivery routes.
• Return to the store promptly after each delivery to maximise vehicle availability.
• Secure stock inside the vehicle to prevent damage during transport.
• Take full responsibility for preventing delivery-related damages and losses.
• Handle fragile and hazardous products with extra care.
• Meet company standards for delivery accuracy and efficiency.
• Follow delivery and collection instructions provided by management.
• Verify all store returns, collections and inter-branch transfers.
• Ensure delivery documentation is completed accurately and signed by customers.
• Confirm customer names, addresses and invoice details before each delivery.
• Process customer payments through EFT and cash transactions when required.
• Never leave the company vehicle unattended during deliveries.
• Keep the delivery vehicle clean, presentable and roadworthy.
• Perform vehicle inspections before, during and after trips and report defects immediately.
• Report accidents, incidents or vehicle-related concerns to management.
• Comply with all National Road Traffic Act regulations and company vehicle policies.
• Accept responsibility for any traffic fines incurred while driving the company vehicle.
• Build strong relationships with customers through friendly and professional service.
• Report customer feedback, complaints and compliments to management.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric).
• Valid driver’s license.
• Willing and able to work retail hours and shifts.
• Previous driving or delivery experience will be advantageous.

Special Conditions of Employment

Applicants must be South African citizens with clear criminal and credit records.
