Eskom is inviting applications for 25 Youth Employment Service (YES) opportunities at Lethabo Power Station in Deneysville, Free State. These fixed term contract positions are part of the national Youth Employment Service (YES) initiative, a public private partnership led by the Presidency to help tackle youth unemployment in South Africa. This programme provides unemployed young people with valuable workplace experience while giving them the opportunity to develop practical skills in one of the country’s leading energy organisations.

The YES Programme is designed to help young South Africans gain meaningful work experience, improve their employability and prepare for future career opportunities. Successful applicants will receive a 12 month contract and will be placed within Eskom operations, where they will gain hands on exposure to administrative and workplace processes in a professional environment.

About the Programme

The Youth Employment Service (YES) Programme at Eskom offers young people an opportunity to gain their first formal work experience while working within the Human Resources Department at Lethabo Power Station.

Participants will develop valuable workplace skills, learn about corporate operations and build practical experience that can strengthen future employment opportunities.

Minimum Requirements

To qualify for the Youth Employment Service (YES) Programme, applicants must:

• Be a South African citizen.
• Be between 18 and 34 years of age.
• Have Grade 12 (Matric) or an equivalent qualification.
• Not have been permanently employed by one employer for longer than one continuous year.
• Not be studying full time during the year of employment.
• Not have previously participated in or registered for the YES Programme.
• Successfully complete Eskom’s recruitment and selection process.

Successful candidates may be placed within Eskom Operations across various divisions.
