The Permanent Part-Timer will assist management with maintaining the store while delivering the high standard of service associated with the adidas brand. The role includes customer service, sales, stock movement, merchandising, point-of-sale activities, housekeeping and loss prevention. Candidates should be comfortable working during weekdays, evenings and weekends and should be willing to take on different responsibilities as operational needs change.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide every customer with a high level of adidas service.
• Welcome customers and assist them in finding suitable products.
• Complete sales transactions involving cash, credit cards, cheques and other approved payment methods when required.
• Assist with product ticketing and check paperwork against items received.
• Support the movement of products from the stockroom to the sales floor.
• Replenish merchandise to maintain product availability.
• Assist with developing and maintaining product displays according to store management guidelines.
• Learn and use the point-of-sale system accurately.
• Follow all point-of-sale policies and procedures to maintain transaction integrity.
• Apply selling techniques such as add-on sales to improve sales performance.
• Explain product features and technical information to customers.
• Work towards achieving store and individual sales goals.
• Greet customers at the entrance and provide assistance during busy trading periods.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards throughout the store.
• Safeguard company assets and merchandise.
• Monitor the sales floor and report suspicious activity.
• Follow loss prevention and security procedures, including SLAP requirements.
• Participate in in-store and digital training through platforms such as Atticus and AREA.
• Build product knowledge and understand best practices for the role.
• Familiarise yourself with Power BI tools to better understand store performance, best-selling products and blackhole products.
• Assist the wider store team with other duties as required.

Requirements and Skills

• Matric certificate.
• 0 to 1 year of retail experience.
• Genuine passion for retail and customer service.
• Strong interest in fashion and sportswear.
• Clear and upbeat communication skills.
• Ability to take initiative.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work during weekdays, evenings and weekends.
• Ability to adapt to different tasks and changing circumstances.
• Previous fashion retail experience will be advantageous but is not essential.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume retail environment.
