About the Role
This hands-on culinary position is ideal for individuals who are detail-oriented, enjoy preparing meals for others, and are committed to maintaining the highest standards in food service. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing meals based on specific recipes and portion requirements while ensuring compliance with safety, hygiene, and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare meals in accordance with recipe guidelines and portion specifications
- Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety in the kitchen
- Conduct regular stock and quality checks, ensuring damaged or expired items are removed
- Implement security and safety procedures at all times
- Monitor kitchen budgets, stock levels, and reduce waste or shrinkage
- Manage day-to-day and weekly food production plans
- Maintain accurate records and complete all relevant documentation
- Communicate effectively with team members and management
- Ensure equipment is clean, safe, and operating efficiently
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum education: Grade 10 (Grade 12 is a strong advantage)
- Basic computer literacy (advantageous)
- Ability to communicate in English
