Young South Africans eager to launch their careers now have a valuable opportunity to join the Youth Employment Service (YES) programme at Eskom’s Majuba Power Station. Eskom is looking to recruit nine (9) young individuals as part of its drive to empower the next generation with workplace exposure and meaningful experience across its Generation division.
This initiative, under the Human Resources department, is hosted at the Majuba Power Station in Mpumalanga, and is open to external candidates who meet the eligibility criteria. The closing date for applications is 24 July 2025.
About the YES Programme at Eskom
The YES programme is a national initiative aimed at addressing South Africa’s youth unemployment crisis by offering structured work opportunities to young people across industries. At Eskom, participants are placed within real operations, providing a unique chance to gain insights, skills, and practical work exposure.
Minimum Requirements
To be eligible for the YES opportunity at Majuba Power Station, applicants must:
- Be a South African citizen
- Be aged between 18 and 34 years old
- Have completed Grade 12 or hold an equivalent or post-matric certificate
Additional Eligibility Criteria
- Must not have been employed permanently by one employer for more than 12 consecutive months
- Must not be engaged in full-time studies during the year of the programme
- Must not have participated in the YES programme before
- Will be required to undergo a recruitment and selection process
