Purpose of the Role

As a Casual Merchandiser, your primary responsibility will be to maintain Dis-Chem’s high merchandising standards while delivering excellent customer service. This role plays a key part in ensuring that the store is visually appealing, well-stocked, and provides a smooth shopping experience for every customer.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric
• Up to 6 months of retail experience (Essential)
• MS Office proficiency
• Willing and able to work flexible retail hours
• Clear criminal and credit records
• South African citizen

Advantageous:

• 1 year of retail experience
• Bilingual (English + another South African language)
• Knowledge of FMCG and merchandising standards

Key Responsibilities

• Replenish shelves and ensure optimal product displays
• Monitor sell-by dates and rotate stock according to FIFO principles
• Report low stock, damaged items, and expired products
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of shelves and storerooms
• Build and maintain merchandising displays
• Assist with stock counts, back shopping, and offloading deliveries
• Provide friendly and professional assistance to customers
• Accurately label and price merchandise
• Assist in onboarding and training new staff
• Adhere to Dis-Chem’s policies, visual merchandising guidelines, and health & safety protocols
