Job Overview

The Receiving Clerk role focuses on ensuring accurate receipt, handling, and control of stock within the store. You will be responsible for processing incoming deliveries, managing stock returns, and maintaining proper inventory records. The role also includes supporting basic store operations and assisting customers when required. This position requires strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and the ability to follow procedures consistently. You will contribute directly to maintaining efficient stock flow and operational stability in the store environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, verify, and process incoming stock deliveries
• Handle stock returns in line with company procedures
• Maintain accurate stock control records and inventory updates
• Assist with general store and floor operations when required
• Provide customer service and support in-store enquiries
• Assist with cashier duties when needed
• Ensure correct handling and storage of stock
• Support stock movement between storage and sales areas
• Maintain clean and organised receiving and storage areas
• Follow operational procedures and company policies at all times
• Report discrepancies, shortages, or damaged goods
• Support overall efficiency in store operations

Requirements And Skills

• Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 qualification
• Experience in agriculture or retail environment is an advantage
• Strong numerical ability and attention to detail
• Good customer service skills
• Ability to follow instructions and procedures accurately
• Strong organisational skills
• Reliable and punctual work ethic
• Ability to work in a team and independently
• Basic communication skills in English
• Physically able to handle stock when required
• Willingness to perform multiple store-related tasks
• Accuracy in stock handling and record keeping
