Clicks Group is hiring two Pharmacist Assistants for its QPB store in Douglas, Northern Cape. Job Overview

The Pharmacist Assistant role focuses on supporting pharmaceutical care services within the scope of practice while ensuring efficient dispensary operations. You will assist with stock control, medicine preparation, customer service, and administrative tasks in line with standard operating procedures. The role requires strong attention to detail, ethical practice, and the ability to follow strict pharmacy regulations. You will also provide general health advice to customers and ensure high standards of service and safety in the dispensary. This position plays a key role in supporting the pharmacist and maintaining smooth pharmacy operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high quality customer service and pharmaceutical care support
• Assist with stock control and medicine administration
• Repack and organise pharmaceutical stock according to SOPs
• Support dispensary administration and daily workflow
• Assist with accurate compounding and preparation of medication
• Provide basic health advice to customers within scope of practice
• Maintain cleanliness and compliance standards in the pharmacy area
• Ensure proper merchandising and product display standards
• Support inventory accuracy and stock rotation processes
• Follow all pharmacy regulations and legal requirements
• Assist with general operational and administrative tasks
• Maintain accurate records and documentation
• Support pharmacist in delivering safe and effective service

Requirements And Skills

• Grade 12 with Mathematics (Essential)
• Registration or eligibility with the Health Professions Council of South Africa
• Qualification as Qualified, Post Basic or Learner Basic Pharmacist Assistant
• Strong knowledge of OTC and health aisle products
• Understanding of pharmacy laws and SAPC regulations
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Ethical and professional work behaviour
• Basic numerical and calculation skills
• Computer literacy including MS Office
• Ability to follow instructions and procedures accurately
• Strong organisational and planning skills
