Job description

• Attend daily content meetings and contribute ideas;
• Daytime content – conceptualise and implement;
• Contribute ideas for show development;
• Conceptualise and implement station features where necessary;
• Manage social platforms (FB and Twitter);
• Co-ordinate Interviews;
• Promote and represent the station to the public and listeners in line with our values;
• Run and execute station promotions and S&P activity in line with show(s);
• Attend competition meetings and be point of contact for sales teams;
• Load ans schedule spot contracts for programming;
• Manage day to day executions and brief presenters on activity in their shows;
• Write up instruction sheets;
• Produce running order and info pack for day time shows;
• Load all programming prizes onto the prizes system;
• Ability to comply with programming strategy of the station.

Requirements

• Matric or equivalent level of competency;
• One year experience in recording and producing radio commercials and radio promos;
• Experience in radio production;
• Knowledgeable of Pro Tools or similar software;
• Desk controlling;
• Must be able to take initiative, be highly accurate and able to meet strict deadlines;
• Must be able to play in the New Media environment and be comfortable with Facebook, Twitter and be online savvy;
• Passion for creating media properties that engage listeners;
• Familiar and comfortable with working with numbers;
• Ability to work in a high pressure environment.

Advantageous

• Preferably previous experience within broad casting (TV or radio).

• The incumbent should have an innate and learned ability of how to produce the best sound for a radio spot, competition or radio feature;
• Must have good interpersonal skills;
• Must be a team player with the ability to deal with constant pressure;
• Must be enthusiastic, persistent and self motivated;
• Attention to detail and the ability to multi-task;
• Quick creative thinker;
• Strong persuasive skills with the ability to reconcile competing demands or view points.
