Online Journalist Graduate / Intern
A tertiary qualification in Journalism, with a special interest in digital content production. They must have proven ability to produce relevant and factually correct news content to deadline. Excellent Afrikaans language ability is essential. The candidate must have knowledge of the South African Press Code, as well as a drivers’ licence. Data and/or development or coding skills, and social media skills, would be beneficial.
A tertiary qualification in Journalism, and proven ability to produce relevant, compelling and factually correct news and/or feature content for a particular brand to deadline. The candidate must have knowledge of the South African Press Code as well as a drivers’ licence.
A tertiary qualification in Multimedia, especially video production. The ideal candidate must have well-developed video editing skills (Adobe Premier Pro, Final Cut or iMovie), an ability to shoot good video and tell a compelling visual story.
A relevant degree or diploma in Marketing. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal are essential. Must have own transport. Experience with agile development processes is advantageous.
A degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems or related (a must!). 6 – 12 months web development experience working with ASP.NET (Frameworks 4 and 3.5) C#, and PHP and good understanding of object oriented design and development principles. It is advantageous to have experience using JavaScript frameworks and AJAX techniques, experience in stored procedures and MS SQL Server, and experience in mobile development.
A qualification in Lexicography or Contracts and Rights: a relevant completed tertiary degree (BA with Law and Literature; Languages; Masters in Literature or lexicography). Excellent written and spoken Afrikaans and English skills are essential.
