Shop Assistant / Cashier Opportunity at Clicks Venda Plaza

Clicks Group is seeking a Shop Assistant / Cashier for its Venda Plaza store in Thohoyandou. This permanent position focuses on delivering excellent customer service, efficient point-of-sale operations, and maintaining high merchandising standards.

Position Summary

The role requires handling daily operational activities at the point of sale, supporting promotions, and ensuring customers have a positive shopping experience. The position contributes directly to Clicks’ goal of being the first-choice health and beauty retailer.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute all point-of-sale operations accurately and efficiently.
• Scan merchandise, process payments, and manage clubcard rewards.
• Handle cash safely and maintain accurate transaction records.
• Promote Clicks’ clubcard and enroll new members to achieve participation targets.
• Inform customers about promotions to drive sales and improve satisfaction.
• Act as a brand ambassador by providing friendly and professional service.
• Maintain merchandising and general housekeeping according to store standards.
• Stay updated on products, promotions, and events to provide accurate customer information.

Knowledge and Skills

• Basic mathematics for accurate transactions.
• Understanding of retail and FMCG operations, merchandising, and promotions.
• Knowledge of stock management procedures and customer service excellence.
• Strong planning, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and numeracy skills.
• Computer literacy for POS operations.
