We have various positions across the business available for vibrant enthusiastic unemployed qualified learners who wish to enter a 12-month internship programme from 15 March 2019 until 14 March 2020. You will be paid the regulated stipend for the duration of the internship

Online Content Intern:

The Hectic family is looking for a tech-savvy, innovating pioneer to uphold the large social media and digital following for 2 well-known youth television shows. This person is an excellent communicator, an early adopter of trends and platforms, and can tap into the digital pulse of SA. Your role would be to become the voice of the show to our digital subscribers, and to manage and elevate our online presence on the daily!

Insert Producer Intern:

Are you interested in learning all facets of television production in one internship? Are you unwilling to be stuck in only one position, but would like experience in planning content, on-the-ground shooting, post-production experience and all the aspects in between? If this sounds like you, then we are looking for an Insert Producer Intern for two successful youth television shows. Your role would involve assisting Insert Producer in planning and executing standalone segments that air during our programme.

Production Intern:

We are looking for a Production Intern who is interested in learning the ropes of what ties an entire Production together. The successful candidate will assist in planning the logistics of upcoming Insert Shoots (dates, times, contacts and equipment booking)

Development Administrator Intern

The Development department of Okuhle Media creates, re-invents, re-thinks and builds entertaining television propositions for a variety of broadcast clients, across a number of genres, in a number of territories. We are looking for: a natural storyteller, with an ability to edit on FCP, would be an advantage. An individual who is a good writer – please send through a sample of your creative writing when applying for the position. Digital and Social Media savvy – please give us an indication of your social media presence in your application. Not afraid to take initiative, ask questions, be brave to fail, so that you can try again. We don’t care if you are different in any way…in fact, we embrace the unique, the different, the bold.

Audio Assistant Intern

Our Studio is keen to develop an assistant audio engineer. You will be exposed to various duties within the studio, from running errands and helping in any way possible. Setting up a recording session, setting up microphones, trouble-shooting equipment’s, and being professional and courteous always when dealing with presenters, guests and fellow crew members. Your skills will be developed in both the studio and audio control room.

Junior Content Editor Intern

The Okuhle Cooked in Africa team (Braai Master, Charly’s Cake Angels, Beer Country etc) is looking for a tech savvy, an innovative editor that can work with creative director Justin Bonello on editing content for their development slate.  This person should be a great storyteller, competent in using Final Cut X, deadline driven, willing to learn and a self-motivator.

Junior Copy/Scriptwriter and Researcher Intern

The Okuhle Cooked in Africa team is looking for a writer that has the gift of the gab, can tell a beautiful story, and back it up with the facts. This person should be a great storyteller, competent in using Word and Power Point, deadline driven and willing to learn.

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Matric Certificate
  • NQF level five Tertiary qualification in relevant fields of film, video, media, journalism and production.
  • Please note your Certificate/Diploma/Degree must be COMPLETED.
  • South African Identity Document
  • A Code B drivers’ licence will be advantageous
