Job description
Processing of cashbook entries
- To import bank statements for the various bank accounts
- To timeously process all cash book entries for all bank accounts
Completion of bank reconciliations
- Ensure all relevant bank statements received for purposes of preparing month-end bank reconciliations
- To perform reconciliations between the cashbook and relevant bank statements by the monthly deadline dates
- To reconcile the cash book balance to the general ledger balance and investigate all reconciling items
Daily update of bank files and bank balances
- To receive bank statements for the various bank accounts via e-mail
- To update the daily cash reports
- To send a daily e-mail detailing the daily cash movements
Completion of audit schedules
- To trace and agree expenditure to invoices for various expense accounts
- To maintain detailed expense schedules for audit purposes
Preparation of cash clearing account reconciliations
- To request cash processing reports from IT on a monthly basis
- To prepare monthly reconciliations between the cash processing reports and the bank statements
- To investigate and resolve any variances between the cash processing reports and the bank statements
- To maintain a detailed monthly analysis of all cash clearing account balances
Review of monthly overheads
- Review of monthly overheads and issue to departmental managers by monthly deadline dates
Matching of invoices
- Match stock invoices to open purchase orders on stock management system
Ad hoc processing and reconciliations
- Assist with ad hoc processing and reconciliations, as requested by the accountant or finance manager
Requirements
Qualifications and accreditations
- Relevant accounting diploma/certificate

- Previous accounting experience essential
